Personal brawl tainted with false allegations of 'Jai Shri Ram'

Recently, an elderly man whose name is Abdul Samad alleged that he was forced to chant ‘Jai Shree Ram’ and his beard was cut off. What is the truth behind his claims?
As of now, the Ghaziabad Police has arrested three accused namely Adil, Kallu Gurjar and Parvesh Gurjar. The Police claim that the victim is an Islamic cleric who gives amulet (Tabeez) to the locals, and gave the same to Parvesh Gurjar. The other three accused Arif, Mushahid and Poli are absconding. In a press statement issued by the Police, Parvesh Gurjar has alleged that negative impacts had happened due to the amulet given by Abdul. On 5th june, Abdul went to Parvesh Gurjar’s house. After sometime, the other accused also arrived and started beating him. On contacting the PRO, DIG Amit Pathak, about the allegations made by the victim that he was forced to chant ‘Jai Shree Ram’, he said everything is there in the press statement and nothing else was said. The reason behind this incident is personal and not communal as per the Police.
Many media houses have reported on the allegations made by Abdul that he was forced to chant ‘Jai Shree Ram’, stands to be false. Interestingly, numerous accused belong to the Muslim community. The fake allegations made by Abdul were propagated by many media personalities as well.
Besides, the fake allegations being circulated as facts by various mainstream journalists, news portal like The Quint also went on to put forward this fake narrative as facts in their news articles.


The Wire went one step ahead to include the chant of 'Vande Mataram'. This comes months before Indian state of Uttar Pradesh goes into elections.

The above media houses and the journalists have not rectified this fake news at the time of writing this report.
